Musulin will be the Moderator for the Burlington County Bar Association Family Law Section presentation of "Relevant Issues in the Critique of Opposing Expert Valuation/Cash Flow Reports" on November 15, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. The panel will focus on the basics of business valuation and the critique of opposing expert reports. Relevant case law and recent developments will be discussed.

  • What is happening in July 2016 at Musulin Law Firm?

Christopher R. Musulin has been re-appointed as Co-Chairperson of the Burlington County Bar Association, Family Practice Section, Bench and Bar Committee, for the 2016-2017 term. Mr. Musulin will also be continuing to serve on the Continuing Legal Education Committee ensuring that the BCBA will continue to offer quality Association-sponsored seminars to Family Law Attorneys. The BCBA Co-Chairpersons will act as liaisons between the Bar and the Judiciary of Burlington County. The Co-Chairs will also report to the President and the Board of Trustees regarding any concerns that they and their respective sections may have regarding court management.

Fulton, Esquire, has just been selected as a Fellow of the 2016 Leadership Academy of the New Jersey State Bar Association due to her outstanding qualifications. On March 12, 2016, Christopher Musulin is scheduled to speak at the New Jersey State Bar Association/New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education presentation entitled " Getting to Yes in Divorce: Using and Understanding ADR in Family Law Cases" in Westampton, at the Hilton Garden Inn. This NJSBA program which will review the practical and legal underpinnings of mediation, arbitration and collaborative law with family law practitioners.

On February 27, 2016, in New Brunswick at the NJ Law Center, Christopher Musulin is scheduled to speak at the New Jersey State Bar Association/NJICLE presentation entitled "Divorce and Retirement in the Post-Alimony Reform World" which will help bring practitioners up to date on how retirement issues are playing out in a post alimony reform world.

This February 19, 2014, at the Burlington County Courthouse, Christopher Musulin, Esquire., will be the Moderator & Presenter for the Burlington County Bar Association Family Law Section presentation of "The Changing Face of Alimony in the State of New Jersey." The BCBA Family Law section will present a seminar that will offer in-depth discussion of recent developments due to the fact that the substantive law of alimony has undergone the greatest analysis over the last 12 months since the 1971 enactment of the Uniform Divorce and Marriage Act.

Christopher Musulin will be the Moderator & Presenter for the upcoming Burlington County Bar Associations' Family Law Section presentation on "The Impact of U.S. vs. Windsor on NJ Same-Sex Couples and What Family Lawyers Need to Know on December 18, 2013." As stated in the BCBA flyer, the seminar will address: "The Windsor holding, and its impact on NJ's same-sex couples. Whether married or in a civil union - the impact has far reaching implications of which all NJ family law practitioners should be aware. We will discuss tax, social security and benefits issues that impact divorce, estate planning, retirement and other areas impacting same-sex couples in ways they may have never dreamed."

On November 11, 2013, at the New Jersey Law Center, Christopher R. Musulin, Esquire., will be a Speaker with regard to the topic Family Support in a Military Divorce at the NJ ICLE seminar entitled "Hot Tips in Family Law: 'Rules are made to be broken: exceptions, dissents and loopholes'" presented in cooperation with the NJSBA Family Law Section. The NJICLE website describes the presentation as follows:

"While all Family Part matters have common characteristics, every divorce, custody case, division of property or support action is unique because a family is involved. What is suitable practice in the majority of cases may be completely wrong for others, and exceptional cases may often require unique solutions. Recognizing your case's uniqueness and knowing when to step out of bounds are key elements in successful matrimonial litigation. Some rules are simply made to be broken, and knowing when and how to break them is the mark of a seasoned and thoughtful family law practitioner. This year's fast-paced Hot Tips in Family Law highlights unique situations when you should consider stepping "out of bounds". See the July/August 2013 edition of the The Straight Word, Volume XXXXVIV No. 7-8, Page 3, "Members in the News," with regard to Christopher R. Musulin's appearance before the New Jersey Supreme Court on May 21, 2013. Mr. Musulin appeared on behalf of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers to discuss the recommendations of the Family Practice Committee with suggested revisions to the Child Support Guidelines. The proposed revisions include a modified award schedule and modifications to Paragraph 21, "Considerations in use of Child Support Guidelines."

Christopher R. Musulin, Esquire., has been reappointed to the Family Law Executive Committee for the New Jersey State Bar Association. He will be serving as the Chair of the Rules Subcommittee and will continue to serve as the liaison between the Family Law Executive Committee and Burlington County.

Mr. Musulin has also been reappointed to a three-year term on the Board of Managers of the New Jersey American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He will remain a member of the Administration Committee 2013-2014, Sponsorship Committee 2013-2014 and was named Chair of the Long Range Planning Committee, June 2013- June 2014. The NJ American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers states as its goal the following: "To encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the cause of matrimonial law, to the end that the welfare of the family and society be protected."

In October 2011 Chris Musulin will be participating as a member of the Children's Rights Subcommittee in a committee meeting and discussion at the New Jersey Law Center for the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Christopher Musulin, Esquire.and Christina Fulton, Esquire. co-authored and submitted for publication to the New Jersey Family Lawyer, a comprehensive article on the use of Protective Orders in matrimonial matters. The New Jersey Family Lawyer is the leading family law publication in New Jersey published by the New Jersey State Bar Association. Publication is expected in March 2011.

On February 16th, 2011, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Mr. Musulin has organized and will serve as the moderator of the next Burlington County Bar Association Bench/Bar Family Law Seminar. The meeting will be held at the Burlington County Courts Facility in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. The Seminar will address the following topics and more: Ending a Civil Union or Domestic Partnership, as well as Same-Sex Adoptions.

On February 15th, 2011, Mr. Musulin will be attending the next Family Law Executive Committee, New Jersey State Bar Association, as the Burlington County liaison to the state bar.

In October, Mr. Musulin will be speaking at the Joint Burlington County and Camden County Family Law Committee Seminar on the topic of "Recent Case Law – Arbitration after Fawzy – Recent developments or issues to be aware of."

  • What is happening in June 2010 with Christopher Musulin?

On June 5, 2010, Christopher Musulin was recognized as an AAML-Certified Arbitrator by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. For litigants who opt for a Family Law Arbitrator to decide their family law matter rather than going to court, arbitration is another form of alternative dispute resolution, and has recently been expanded by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a method to resolve disputes regarding custody, visitation and child support. Mr. Musulin is helping to organize a joint meeting of the Burlington County Bar Association, the Camden County Bar Association, and the Gloucester County Bar Association family law committees in May 2010. At the meeting he will be speaking about Matrimonial Arbitration.

Mr. Musulin is presently compiling a summary of all legislation pending in the New Jersey State Senate and Assembly related to family law for presentation to the Family Law Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

On February 25, 2010, Mr. Musulin delivers the preliminary report of the Alimony Guidelines Committee to the New Jersey State Bar Association Family Law Executive Committee.

Chris Musulin completes work on New Jersey's first Family Law Arbitration Statute along with approximately a dozen other members of the Family Law Executive Committee.
